The Powells
Posted on November 30, 2008
Just before Thanksgiving, Lindsay and I were able to spend some time with the Powells and document their family life. They have such a fun house for kids to grow up in. Recently, on November 15th, the family received a new addtion: Penelope Olive, a cute little girl. Here are some photos we captured:

A little tuckered out after about 30 minutes of bed jumping.

They had two sweet horses in their backyard. After we left, Lindsay asked me if I’d buy her a pony. I told her I’d think about it.

Kari Me Away ::: Kids Clothing
Posted on November 28, 2008
The team over at Skylab Media Group have been working on the rebranding of a great clothing line for kids and I was hired to do the photography for the website and product. The clothing line is called Kari Me Away. The clothes themselves have a vintage, Southern feel and are extremely cute. The unique thing about this line is that you purchase the patterns and materials, and then sew the outfit together yourself! I’ll let you know when the new site is up so you can order some clothes for your kids. Here are some photos from the day:

Mexico ::: Tecate Orphanage
Posted on November 26, 2008
Sorry for lagging in the posts. I’ve been all over the place and slammed with work and trips. I just got back from a weekend in Tecate, Mexico with my high school group. We did some heavy lifting manual labor during the day then were able to spend some time at a nearby orphanage. Our kids had so much fun and so did everyone at the orphanage. One of the favorite games we play is called the three legged races. I have our kids pair up with one of the local kids, we tie their legs together and then have a big race. Everyone’s laughing the whole time. Here are some photos from our trip:

Argentina on Film
Posted on November 18, 2008
We are back from our trip and already slammed with a backlog of work. I just got back the film I shot while we were there. Some of these shots came out great. One of my rolls got some incredible light leaks that add to the images. Let me know how you like these shots:

Mendoza Wine Country ::: Argentina
Posted on November 15, 2008
Mendoza is about a 2-3 hour plane flight from Buenos Aires or an 18 hour overnight bus ride. We decided to catch a plane and head towards the Andes Mountains. We had heard some great things about the city and about the wine in Mendoza but our experience there exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous parks, great city as well as being cleaner and a bit slower paced than Buenos Aires. We explored the city a couple days, went on a wine tour, went rock climbing, and had 3 hour lunches and dinners. This was the vacation from our vacation. The first photo is the main park in Mendoza and the rest are from our wine tour. Enjoy!

Justin snapped this shot of us!

Here’s Sandra learning about the wine making process. I love this shot.

I set my camera on a table with the timer on for this one. We ate at this cafe every lunch while we were in Mendoza. This afternoon, we sat under this tree and played Uno for about 3 hours. It was Lindsay’s favorite day.

Back in Buenos Aires
Posted on November 14, 2008
After relaxing a bit in Uruguay, we headed back to the busy city. The area of Palermo is the hipper district of town, sort of like the SOHO area of New York. Tons of cafes and great stores for the girls to do some shopping. Here are a couple more city photos:

So I bought Lindsay a big diamond while we were in the city….

We found this big mirror of a window and snapped a shot of us!

And I always love shooting storefront windows so here are a couple of those I liked:

La Colonia ::: Uruguay
Posted on November 9, 2008
To take a little break from the city, we caught a ferry from Buenos Aires to La Colonia, Uruguay. La Colonia is a little coastal peninsula that is quaint and beautiful. Huge old trees line every street throughout the city. We rented bikes and road through all the cobblestone streets exploring. It was a nice side trip for us all. Here are some photos from that day:

San Telmo Antique Fair
Posted on November 8, 2008
Every weekend, there is a huge open air market in the town of San Telmo. If we owned an antique store, we could have brought back some of the most amazing things for our store. Everything from furniture to cameras to jewelery, to home decor. The streets were packed and was a fun time. Here are a couple shots I grabbed that day.

There will be more to come. We’ve been having a blast and I’ve captured some great photos along the way!!
Cementario de la Recoleta
Posted on November 5, 2008
This above ground cemetery was one of my favorite sites in Buenos Aires. The cemetery is the oldest in town and covers over 13 acres. It literally looks like it’s a little city of its own. The intricate design on some of the tombs and the statues were stunning. I love some of the photos I grabbed that day:

A Couple More Photos in the City
Posted on November 3, 2008
In the middle of Buenos Aires, there is this giant machine flower that actually closes at night and opens back up when the sun is out. Amazing piece of art and machinery.
Here’s a shot of your favorite photographers showing you a couple cheerleading moves.

And Justin and Sandra giving a little leap for joy.

Here’s a better look. They’ll probably be the subjects in many of the next posts while we’re here:
