Leah and Chris in Central Park
Posted on November 27, 2007
In between this trip to NY and my last (which was only about 2 weeks ago) Chris proposed to Leah. So this time out, we got to cruise around Central Park which was unbelievable. All the trees were golden, or red, or orange. It was probably negative 30 degrees when we were shooting (just kidding, I’m a wuss. But it was cold and windy). They brought their pups and we grabbed some fun photos. This first shot is from the day before. We were dropping of Lucy for her rehearsal at the Waldorf hotel. I liked this shot.

Lucy Kate’s Debutante Ball
Posted on November 26, 2007
So the main reason we were in New York was to photograph Lucy Kate all day as she got ready to come out into society as a woman. It was a fun day with her. I love this first shot. The girls are letting their nails dry right by the window…

New York City
Posted on November 24, 2007
I love New York. I love the oldness of the buldings, I love walking everywhere, I love the buildings and love the culture. I documented some of my favorite things in the city in our short visit. These first two are out our hotel window. Pretty killer view!

The Macy’s Parade
Posted on November 23, 2007
I’m back out in New York for a Debutante Ball which I will post photos for in a day or so, and while being out here, my wife and I were lucky to have some incredible seats for the Thanksgiving Day, Macy’s Parade. Here are some fun photos from that experience:

Party of 5 (or 2 today)
Posted on November 15, 2007
Becker asked if my lovely wife Lindsay and I would be his subjects as he teaches a group of photographers during his Party of 5 course. We sat in a bit at the end to listen to what he does. What an experience! I would recommend anyone who is getting started in their business to take his course. Here’s our favorite photo he grabbed of us. There were 6 photographers following us around and any time we even looked at each other, it sounded like machine guns were going off.We were dying laughing and had a blast.

Nicola’s Alice and Wonderland Birthday!
Posted on November 12, 2007
Jessica Claire invited me to shoot Nicola’s birthday on Saturday and it was a blast. I had high expectations arriving at the party but they were all blown out the door when we showed up. The decorations were unbelievable and they had everything from Mad Hatter ring tosses, to croquet, they could design their own mad hatter hats, build their own cupcakes…It was a little kids dream. Here’s the rabbit hole everyone had to go through to enter the party:

Here’s a couple of her friends that showed up:

Haute Cakes Showing
Posted on November 2, 2007
Back in March and April, I spent several days each week setting up an old 4×5 view camera to shoot photos of local customers at a very local cafe in Orange County called Haute Cakes. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town with amazing food and a great community of people that dine there. For the month of November, I have about 30 or so photos up on the walls, some posed and some candid. I shot all of them black and white with a mixture of film and digital mediums. Here are a couple of my favorite images:

She is always cheery and brings a smile to my face every time I see her.

This is actually a scan of a 4×5 polaroid. This was just a test shot but ended up liking it a bunch.
