Brendan and Kim - Engaged!

Posted on January 24, 2008

Brendan has been a good friend for years and we were all down in Puerto Vallerta for our buddy’s wedding. We stayed at the Grand Mayan, an incredible resort, and were both in the wedding held on a private island. It was so fun, and perfect for the couple. Brendan popped the question sometime around Christmas/New Years and we had talked about getting some photos. We decided to take advantage of our surroundings and scored a couple photos for them:

Dave and Carrie’s Wedding!

Posted on January 14, 2008

Dave and Carrie were married last weekend when it was predicted to be the rainstorm of the century. Luckily the rain stopped for the main part of the day with only a few drizzles here and there. The ceremony was beautiful, with tons of laughs and we got some fun umbrella shots in the gloomy weather. During the ceremony Carrie’s dad officiated a portion of the wedding while Dave’s grandfather did the other parts. For this photo, Grampa had just complimented Carry and absolutely, and unexpectedly burned Dave. The crowd was roaring…

Barmitzva for the Big E

Posted on January 13, 2008

I accompanied Jessica Claire up to LA to shoot some portraits of E and his fam before his Barmitzva (which we shot last night - and will be posted soon). We got some fun shots hanging out around the house. Here are a few for you…

And a little rehearsal for his big night!

And his sisters were dancing up a storm for the camera. I love some of these spinning shots…

I liked this shot of the Hebrew Scriptures all stacked up for the ceremony.

The Odd Lamb

Posted on January 8, 2008

The Odd Lamb is a one man band and talented musician. He had a small local concert with friends last weekend and I snapped some photos to share. Check out his site. He is an insanely talented artist and his approach to music is similar to his approach to art.

And here is David Robison who is a talented singer songwriter.

Nick and Natalie

Posted on January 6, 2008

Nick and Natalie are one of my favorite couples. Nick runs a website called Rewriteable Content focusing on the LA music scene and just started a new site called By Osmosis. I shoot a lot of bands for Rewriteable so Nick and I get to spend some time together at shows. We talked about doing this shoot for a while and when it finally came around, the biggest storm of the century was predicted (which obviously wasn’t that big). Some sun peeped through at the end of the day and ended up with some fun shots.

Sir Schmidt

Posted on January 3, 2008

I set up a studio in my house last night and and after our dinner party, fired off a couple of photos of my favorite subject. Here are three shots that stood out to me. How great is his look in the top hat?

Brandon and Chapman - Brothers

Posted on January 2, 2008

Before the new year, I went with Brandon and Chapman up into the hills of Orange County to shoot some photos of them for their mother. Brandon’s been one of my brother’s best friends since grade school so our families go back a ways. These guys are so hilarious. We were laughing half the shoot, joking around and trying to be serious. And for their sake, their serious shots are supposed to be funny as well. Before we went out, they rolled up on their bikes and we took a couple photos.

Chapman was posing on this rock and Brandon was jealous he wasn’t getting all the attention.

Then they decided to be friends again.

I liked this one going up to the shoot.

Just as we were finishing up, two coyotes came blasting down the hill. They were going so fast. I’m stoked I got this frame.
