Bethany and Brant
Posted on March 20, 2008
Brant and Bethany were such a fun bride and groom to shoot. I laughed a good portion of the day. Everything from tie tying lessons for the groomsmen to pirate ships to an overall good spirited crew! Most all of the groomsman are surfers from the east coast. Bethany and Brant have an amazing story to how they met which we learned in a little video put together. A good portion of the guys, including Brant, are in a bunch of surf films put together by and organization called Walking on Water. You can watch a trailer for the new film here. I have a buddy premiering the newest video all over Australia and New Zealand.
Here’s the sweet couple:

There’s Something About Film
Posted on March 19, 2008
So I’ve started shooting with some older film cameras to experiment in the midst of shoots I’m already doing. There are some things difficult to replicate with a digital camera. And you can replicate them with a lot of time but…
I shot one roll of 120 film during Trey and Rachel’s shoot and just got it back today. I’m pretty happy with the results. Here are two images…

Trey and Rachel are Engaged!!
Posted on March 10, 2008
Trey and Rachel are good friends of mine so I was honored to shoot their engagement shots. They are so excited about getting married and you can feel it just being around them. Trey proposed on a walk in the Back Bay so they chose that as their main location to take some photos. How can you resist. There are only a few months per year that this area gets ridiculously beautiful. I love all these yellow flowers.
Here’s the happy couple:

The Clark Family
Posted on March 6, 2008
This session was like shooting fish in a barrel. Fast moving fish maybe but fish in a barrel none the less. I think I would have had to try really hard to not get a good shot. The kids are so cute, the parents handsome and pretty, and the location was hard to beat. Fortunately with those conditions, I was able to pull off a shot or two. Here’s what I came up with…
Let me introduce you to the models….

Tecate, Mexico
Posted on March 3, 2008
This past weekend, I went down to Tecate, Mexico with a group from my church to do some work and figure out needs we can potentially help with in the future. Tecate is an interesting area. The town is extremely poor and a majority of the people are living in run down slums. What I found out about the area is that foreign companies build factories and offer to pay people $80 per week. This is more than most people can make in the country side of Mexico, so many decide to leave their homes and villages to make a buck at the factories. The living costs are then higher in the city and many of these workers end up in the slums. Our group went to work on a ranch called Rancho La Paloma which serves as a home base for groups who come down to serve the local communities. We painted, fenced in some chicken coupes, and scouted out the town for future trips. I documented the trip and here are some photos:
