Mexico ::: Tecate Orphanage
Posted on November 26, 2008
Sorry for lagging in the posts. I’ve been all over the place and slammed with work and trips. I just got back from a weekend in Tecate, Mexico with my high school group. We did some heavy lifting manual labor during the day then were able to spend some time at a nearby orphanage. Our kids had so much fun and so did everyone at the orphanage. One of the favorite games we play is called the three legged races. I have our kids pair up with one of the local kids, we tie their legs together and then have a big race. Everyone’s laughing the whole time. Here are some photos from our trip:

Mendoza Wine Country ::: Argentina
Posted on November 15, 2008
Mendoza is about a 2-3 hour plane flight from Buenos Aires or an 18 hour overnight bus ride. We decided to catch a plane and head towards the Andes Mountains. We had heard some great things about the city and about the wine in Mendoza but our experience there exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous parks, great city as well as being cleaner and a bit slower paced than Buenos Aires. We explored the city a couple days, went on a wine tour, went rock climbing, and had 3 hour lunches and dinners. This was the vacation from our vacation. The first photo is the main park in Mendoza and the rest are from our wine tour. Enjoy!

Justin snapped this shot of us!

Here’s Sandra learning about the wine making process. I love this shot.

I set my camera on a table with the timer on for this one. We ate at this cafe every lunch while we were in Mendoza. This afternoon, we sat under this tree and played Uno for about 3 hours. It was Lindsay’s favorite day.

Back in Buenos Aires
Posted on November 14, 2008
After relaxing a bit in Uruguay, we headed back to the busy city. The area of Palermo is the hipper district of town, sort of like the SOHO area of New York. Tons of cafes and great stores for the girls to do some shopping. Here are a couple more city photos:

So I bought Lindsay a big diamond while we were in the city….

We found this big mirror of a window and snapped a shot of us!

And I always love shooting storefront windows so here are a couple of those I liked:

Pawnshop Kings & Greg Laswell ::: Hotel Cafe
Posted on September 4, 2008
The Pawnshop Kings are good friends of mine and incredible musicians. I went up to Hotel Cafe in LA to shoot their show along with another favorite artist of mine, Greg Laswell. Pawnshop Kings have a recent DVD they just released up on their site you should definitely get. Also, they put up two songs they recorded live at this concert. They are brand new and so good. Check them out here.
Pawnshop Kings are playing a show at the Troubadour in Santa Monica this monday. You should make it out if you can. Definitely worth your Monday night! I’ll be there shooting photos too. Come say hi!
Here are a couple photos from the night:

A Day In the Countryside
Posted on July 23, 2008
This was a shoot that was so much fun the entire day. Everyone involved was incredible and we pulled off some great photos. Thanks again to my all star team starting with Dottie at Cheek Couture and Happy who’s awesome with the hair.
Emily, who usually styles my shoots, brainstormed most of the themes for our different locations. Everything was a collaboration and I love how everything ended up. Here are some images from our adventure!
This first theme was based off an Anthropologie type style:

Here are a couple images from our Grunge look:

This is our black and white with balloons theme:

And this series is my favorite. This is a formal theme:

1 Year Anniversay in San Francisco!!
Posted on June 26, 2008
The 24th of June was our 1 year wedding anniversary and as a present to Lindsay, I surprised her with a trip to San Fran. She had no idea where we were going until we got to the airport. It was pretty awesome. I actually proposed to her in San Fran New Year’s Day under the Golden Gate Bridge so the trip had some sentimental value as well. We walked everywhere and then we wined and dined in the evening. A perfect get away! Here are some photos from the trip!
Here’s a shot of Lindsay walking down the stairs of our awesome hotel.
I like this shot of Lindsay in an old chair we found on the street
Then out of no where, this ninja (drunk at 10am) jumped out of a bar and tried to attack us. Then he wanted us to join him. I fought him off with my camera.

Cirque du Shea
Posted on June 16, 2008
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting the Cirque du Shea Event put on by The J.F Shea Therapeutic Riding Center at the Montage Resort in Laguna. The event was a fundraiser which raised $700,000 to benefit The J.F Shea Therapeutic Riding Center: dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs.
Corporate Diversions coordinates, designs and produces the event which was incredible. Michele Holmen is the designer and is incredibly talented. The theme this year was Cirque du Soleil (aka Cirque du Shea).
The event starts with a cocktail reception and silent auction with live performers, then everyone moves into the ballroom for dinner, live auction and entertainment.
Here are a couple photos from the day.
